Lounge or bar in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

Property located 10 - 15 minute walk from the old town. Location nice and quiet. Breakfast was wonderful and had a few extra choices on the breakfast menu you could order separately from the breakfast buffet. Spa facilities included in the price and used the sauna and swimming pool! Steam Room not working any more which was a shame but didn’t really make much difference to our wonderful stay! Staff very polite and attentive! Hotel very clean and immaculate.

Restaurant/places to eat in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

Perfect location , right next to Holyrood place and short walk to Golden mile. The room was a great size , bigger than most we have stayed in and the bed was huge and very comfortable. We used the pool and sauna which was nice. We had a side view which looked out over the palace Staff all very friendly . We were allowed to check in at 1pm as our room was ready. Parking great at an underground car park right across the road which is subsidised for Marriott residents and everything was just really easy ! Would definitely book again.

Staff were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived which was great - I'm sorry I can't remember names (but the man on reception/concierge Friday 15/11 AM and Saturday 16/11 PM). I booked the hotel and my travelling group were very happy. Rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. We didn't have time to use the facilities so can't speak for them (pool etc). We had breakfast included with our room and it was a nice breakfast, plenty to choose from to start the day. The location was brilliant too - we managed to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Ask the staff re bus tours, they put us on a great one with 3 loops and there was a stop across the road (by Dynamic Earth).

Lounge or bar in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

loved everything about this hotel. couldn't fault it. It was calm and quiet. The room had luggage storage, hanging space (with coat hangers) and drawers, a kettle, with a selection of different teas and coffees & cups and drinking glasses along with 2 complementary bottles of water & 2 shortbread biscuits. It included a fridge, safety deposit box (no extra charge), hairdryer, iron and board. The bathroom had everything you need except a toothbrush & toothpaste but it had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand-wash & hand-lotion available to use. The room was spacious, with everything you need. The bed was large and very comfortable. The pool & sauna were lovely. We didn't use the gym or spa. Staff were so courteous & polite & helpful with everything. Breakfast the next morning was hot & delicious. It would take, in my opinion, around 25 minutes to walk to Waverly train station (Princess Street enterance) from the hotel & it is quite uphill the streets at times. We got taxis, & the joirney cost around £8-£10 to the city centre (depending exactly where you were going to). Overall, we had a lovely stay and the hotel had a lovely feel and atmosphere to it & I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Property building in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

Great location, staff was amazing, so friendly and helpful. The first room we got put it was near air con unit which was quite loud so they moved us within minutes. The first room was freshly refurbished and was beautiful sadly the second one wasn’t, but it was quiet which was more important. Spa facilities , swimming pool and sauna were great. Spacious pool, wasn’t too busy.

View (from property/room) in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

The hotel is beautifully decorated and very clean. A lovely welcome. We liked the easy to use card room door access. The room was lovely. A huge mounted TV, which was great, but the controller was a bit of a faff!... Plus no film channel except Film 4. Unless there was but it wasn't obvious. The bed was lovely and big and comfy. We usually sleep with one pillow at home, the hotel had a big pillow roll which took a bit of getting used to. But we actually did sleep well. The bathroom was superb, best we have had in a hotel. Clean and tidy and roomy. No bath though, but a walk in shower. A waterfall shower and a handheld shower piece. Shampoo and shower gel as standard. The mirror extractor fan actually works and clears the glass after your shower. Towels provided. Excellent. The breakfast was adequate, but there were no mushrooms for the fry up choice. But other than that lovely. The location is a little bit out of the way of any bus routes really,.. although the hop on hop off city sightseeing one does stop at the dynamic earth which is what we used.

Very welcoming , friendly staff on reception Cleaners very helpful following blocked shower leaking everywhere, dealt with quickly Over zealous front desk lady at breakfast , checking in , name , room , then finding a table - even after popping to the bathroom same process (could be slightly less intense) Quiet location , good facilities but unable to use pool or treatments too full

Breakfast in Edinburgh Holyrood Hotel

The beds were comfortable, the room was quite spacious, and the bathroom was the best I've had during my UK trip! The location was superb, so close to the Holyrood palace and everything else I wanted to see were within walking distance. I wish I could've stayed longer.

Nice hotel in the city centre, easy walking distance to all the attractions. The rooms are really spacious, and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast was also nice, with lots of options (good full Scottish and continental) and you can order poached/fried eggs, waffles and smoked salmon. The pool/gym is also nice.
