loved everything about this hotel. couldn't fault it. It was calm and quiet. The room had luggage storage, hanging space (with coat hangers) and drawers, a kettle, with a selection of different teas and coffees & cups and drinking glasses along with 2 complementary bottles of water & 2 shortbread biscuits. It included a fridge, safety deposit box (no extra charge), hairdryer, iron and board. The bathroom had everything you need except a toothbrush & toothpaste but it had shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand-wash & hand-lotion available to use. The room was spacious, with everything you need. The bed was large and very comfortable. The pool & sauna were lovely. We didn't use the gym or spa. Staff were so courteous & polite & helpful with everything. Breakfast the next morning was hot & delicious. It would take, in my opinion, around 25 minutes to walk to Waverly train station (Princess Street enterance) from the hotel & it is quite uphill the streets at times. We got taxis, & the joirney cost around £8-£10 to the city centre (depending exactly where you were going to). Overall, we had a lovely stay and the hotel had a lovely feel and atmosphere to it & I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Breakfast had a very good selection from continental, pastries, cooked options to requesting specific menu items, such as smoked salmon, waffles or omelette. All for £12 if booked the night before. On the day would be £18. Our room was spacious with gd facilities. As a group of friends, we used the bar, which had nice areas to sit. We also had a 3 course meal on the evening of our arrival, although minimal choice everything ordered was cooked & presented to a high standard. We didn't drive on this ocassion, but paid parking was available across the road at 'Dynamic Earth', which was definitely worth a visit. The hotel has recently been taken over by Marriot, and some updating works were being completed, but this did not affect us as we were up & sorted by the time any noise started, approx 9.00am

The hotel was beautifully clean, with very friendly staff and in particular the concierge was very very helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Very clean and beds were really comfy. The spa was lovely as well. The location of the hotel was really good for Holyrood and Dynamic Earth. Overall in Edinburgh most things are close enough to walk to from any hotel but the fact that this one was a little bit further on the outskirts made it feel a bit less chaotic than being directly on the busier parts. It's perhaps a ten minute walk to the Royal Mile and shops, and maybe 20-25 minutes walk to Edinburgh Castle which is the other end of the old town. Plenty of local facilities such as the little Tesco and food places. I really cannot recommend this place enough in terms of location and the hotel itself.

We had a wonderful stay. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. It provided everything we needed for a relaxing and enjoyable experience. While we didn’t try the breakfast since it was included, it’s nice to know that many guests enjoy it. The location was ideal, making it easy to visit all the main attractions in the area. It’s conveniently placed, so we didn’t have to travel far for sightseeing. As for the customer service, we were impressed by how helpful and friendly the staff was. They went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Additionally, the professionals at the spa were top-notch, providing great service with a high level of expertise. It was a relaxing experience overall!

Staff were so friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived which was great - I'm sorry I can't remember names (but the man on reception/concierge Friday 15/11 AM and Saturday 16/11 PM). I booked the hotel and my travelling group were very happy. Rooms were spacious, modern and comfortable. We didn't have time to use the facilities so can't speak for them (pool etc). We had breakfast included with our room and it was a nice breakfast, plenty to choose from to start the day. The location was brilliant too - we managed to walk everywhere we wanted to go. Ask the staff re bus tours, they put us on a great one with 3 loops and there was a stop across the road (by Dynamic Earth).
